We've been pretty busy with the landscaping of the property...thankfully, we don't have to do all 1.7 acres!  We were told to fence what we didn't want the cows to eat, so, we figured that's all we'd have to landscape!

The natural beauty of the area is such that we didn't want too much.  We settled for a fence, stamped concrete sidewalks and patios, some grass, and a few flowers (we're partial to reds, purples, yellows and whites!) that we'll add to over the years.  There are so many rocks around that we can literally pick up a border!  We have to be careful of our backs, but, so far, so good!

We're not allowed to cut down any trees without city permission.  The only one that bothered us, as it blocked our view into the valley, came down in a winter storm this year, so, we're pleased!

There are 4 houses on our court: the huge one we were originally supposed to have, ours, and two others that have just recently sold.  We've had the place to ourselves since we moved in last March!  I'm not sure how we'll adapt to neighbors...!  Even though the other houses are 3400-3800 square feet (ours is 2500), the two that just sold went to people our age with no children living at home.  That ought to make for a quiet neighborhood.

Other houses in the development are now occupied and we've met everyone.  Before she left, Dominica got some house/pet-sitting jobs and some babysitting gigs. It looks to be a good group of people!

Anyway, look at some of the pictures on the ensuing pages...and...come visit when you can!  We don't have a designated guest room, but we've just bought a lovely queen-sized futon!
